Cubs Bursary
Smiths Falls Girls Hockey Association is excited to offer a $500.00 bursary award to a graduating player in the 2025/2026 season!
This is to help offset some expenses during their post-secondary journey and to commend them for their commitment to playing for SFGHA.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A member of the SFGHA for a minimum of two consecutive years, including your final year in the 2025/2026 hockey season.
- You must be graduating from High School in 2026 and be accepted in a post-secondary institution (e.g. university, college, trade school etc.)

2024-25
Smiths Falls GHA would like to congratulate the recipient of the 2024-25 SFGHA Cubs Bursary: Marin Carty.
Marin has been a proud and committed member of the Cubs organization since 2017. In addition to her involvement with SFGHA, she has volunteered an impressive 364 hours supporting youth in her community.
Recently, Marin overcame a significant injury that required foot surgery. Through determination, discipline, and perseverance, she successfully returned to the sport she loves. This experience helped guide her decision to pursue post-secondary studies at University this September, where she will begin her journey to become a nurse.
Marin exemplifies the qualities of a dedicated athlete, supportive teammate, and loyal friend. Congratulations, Marin - we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
2023-24
Smiths Falls GHA would like to congratulate graduating Cubs player Charlotte Kerr on being selected as the first recipient of our Cubs Bursary.
Charlotte is a true leader both on and off the ice, while excelling at her academics. Congratulations Charlotte, and good luck at University in September!
